Occupational Health and Safety
Students successfully achieving this qualification will meet the IOSH academic requirements for Associate Membership and Technical Membership.
- Associate Members are required to hold an IOSH accredited qualification in occupational health and safety. There is no mandatory requirement to undertake CPD. Associate Members can use the letters AIOSH after their names.
- Technical Members are required to hold an IOSH accredited qualification in occupational health and safety plus have a suitable level of experience in a health and safety role. To maintain their status they must join the IOSH CPD programme. Technical Members can use the letters Tech IOSH after their names.
Students successfully achieving this qualification will be eligible to apply for IOSH graduate level membership GradIOSH. They will then be required to undertake a period of Initial Professional Development (IPD) which will require students to provide evidence of their practice skills in a skills development portfolio, at the end of this period there will be a professional review interview. After successful completion of this IPD process students will then be eligible for the chartered membership of IOSH (CMIOSH).
